Lawrence Simmons, alias The Gauntlet, is the main character of Gauntlet Force. As a down-on-his-luck, nigh-suicidal archeologist, he finally made an amazing discovery in Dahab, Egypt - a mysterious gauntlet that was unlike anything ever seen before, let alone in that area. He unfortunately fell victim to an irresistible urge to put on the gauntlet, and the armor piece became permanently stuck to his arm. He was fired from the museum upon returning to Chicago.
